Another Successful Bonfire burn 10k..


Another Bonfire Burn 10k was held at the on Sunday 3rd November, the third year this run has been going attracted over 900 runners on the day. The weather was blustery with clear skies and not a hint of rain made the event enjoyable.

The run is being organised by Friends of Histon & Impington Recreation Ground, a charity that fund raises to improve leisure and sporting facilities on the village Recreation Ground.

Nearly £10,000 has been raised in the last two years from the run and this has helped fund new initiatives in the village including the weekly stroke recoverers and survivors club and make landscaping improvements. The event this year hopes to raise another £5000 which will help the charity to continue doing its work.

The overall race winner with a time of 31.58 was Andrew Jakeman Runner 88 (pictured below). full race results can be found on the event website 


Next years Bonfireburn 10k will be held on the 2nd November 2014 with registrations opening on the 1st July 2014 on the 

Next year a new race will be added to diary on the 1st June 2014 “The Flaming June Half” which is a half marathon taking in the local area around the village.  To register and interest in this race please head overt to the website
