What was it like to live in Celtic Iron Age Britain before the Romans came? Rodney Scarle has had a particular long term interest in Iron Age Coins. He volunteers at the Norris Museum, St Ives. Through his interest, he will help us shed light on the shadowy world of tribal life in the Late Iron Age, covering coin evolution, production, design, legends, imagery and use. A number of Iron Age coins have been found locally. The picture shows a beautiful little gold coin that was issued by the most powerful ruling dynasty in our region, between 45-25 BC, a time of strong trading links with the continent. There will be a bonus of a coin display on the night. All Welcome
