Worship Evening With Neal Morse
November 18 @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pmFree
Neal Morse is widely regarded as being at the forefront of a resurgence in progressive rock (“prog”) music since the mid 1990s. First with his own band Spock’s Beard, and then with prog supergoup Transatlantic, Neal made a name for himself in the worldwide prog community as a virtuoso musician, energetic frontman and prolific songwriter. His abilities with melody have been compared by many to that of Lennon and McCartney.
In 1998 Neal shocked the prog world by becoming a Christian and quitting both bands in order to concentrate on making Christian music, and – with top-rated rock musicians – has since produced many critically-acclaimed albums in the “Christian prog” genre – the most recent of which was 2016’s “The Similitude Of A Dream” – a retelling of Bunyan’s classic “A Pilgrim’s Progress”.
Neal has just finished recording his latest albums with the Neal Morse Band and (side project) Flying Colours and – before he embarks on a another world tour with The Neal Morse Band in early 2019 – has come over to Europe for a few weeks in November to do a few worship nights in the UK (London and Cambridge) and Germany.
New Life Church is delighted to have had a long association with Neal going back over 10 years and – since it has been eight years since Neal last did a worship night here in Histon – he was keen to come and visit us again.
