The final list of participants at next week’s sustainability event has been announced and its pretty impressive.

The event will take place in the Community Room at the Histon & Impington Rec on Saturday 5 Apr 14 starting at 1000 and running until 1500.

It has been organised around four sustainability themes:

  • Transportation
  • Food sustainability
  • Energy reduction
  • Recycling

And will focus on helping people to understand how they can behave more sustainably and to save money as well. There will be several experts present to be able to give residents specific and impartial advice. These experts include:

Both South Cambs District Council and Cambridgeshire County Council are providing significant support. Emmaus will be present to talk about its role in recycling.

Several local groups including the Histon & Impington Community Orchard Project, the Garden Society and the Village Society will also be present.

Parish Councillor Ruth Moulder is championing the day. Ruth says:  ‘Histon & Impington is a great place to live and the majority of residents understand the need to live sustainably. However the issues involved in living sustainably can be confusing. The Parish Council is holding this event to provide residents with some of the advice and information they need to make informed choices. We also hope people enjoy the day and come to meet some of their neighbours.’
