We have heard from the Highways Agency about the start of the above works and a series of overnight lane and carriageway closures to prepare for the establishment of site traffic management, safe designated working areas and temporary traffic management for the construction of an additional lane in each direction.
Between Saturday 26th April 2014 and Saturday 3rd May 2014 the programme will include a combination of carriageway and lane closures which will include diversions. Again the closures will be limited to the night with two lanes maintained in both directions during day to support peak time traffic flows.
From Saturday 26th April through to Monday 28th April the full eastbound carriageway will be closed between Junctions 31 and 32 from 21.00hrs to 06.00hrs. During the same period, but commencing at 20.00hrs, lane one of the westbound carriageway will also be closed.
From Tuesday 29th April through to Saturday 3rd May the full westbound carriageway will be closed between Junction 31 and 36 from 21.00hrs to 06.00hrs.
During the same period, but commencing at 20.00hrs, lane one of the eastbound carriageway will also be closed.
The closures and diversions will be well sign posted and details of the diversions can be seen on the Highways Agency website –www.highways.gov.uk/roads/road-projects/A14-Junction-31-to-32-Eastbound-and-Westbound-Improvements
If further overnight lane or carriageway closures are required beyond the 3rd May we will advise towards the end of next week.
